The White Family
Charitable Fund

Purpose
The Tiffin
Charitable Foundation is committed to funding
charitable purposes from the White Family Charitable
Fund which will assist and promote the well being of
the citizens of the City of Tiffin and Seneca
County.

Eligibility
The Foundation
welcomes grant applications from public and private
organizations in the City of Tiffin and Seneca
County that are tax exempt according to Section
501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code or are
organized for a charitable purpose.

Grant making policy
In general, the
Foundation gives priority to applications in any
field or program area that reflect one or more of
the following characteristics:

Promotes personal achievement, independence, and
education
Ø
Promotes cultural enrichment, diversity, and equity
Ø
Develops new solutions to community problems
Ø
Facilitates cooperation and collaboration among
organizations and avoids duplication of services
Ø
Improves the quality of nonprofit organizations by
means of becoming more self-sustaining
Ø
Increases individual access to community services
Ø
Encourages volunteerism, civic and community
involvement
Ø
Promotes environmental awareness and improvement
Ø
Improves personal health, wellness, and independence
In order to make the
best use of available funds, the Foundation does not
usually make grants for the following:
Ø
Construction projects for routine maintenance
Ø
Normal
operating expenses
Ø
Loan
payments
Ø
Endowments
Ø
Religious or sectarian purposes
Ø
Individual financial assistance
Ø
Political purposes
Ø
Multi-year funding
Ø
Re-granting in any of the next three years if the
original grant was $10,000 or more

Procedures

How to apply for a
grant.
Grant applications should be
submitted on The Tiffin Charitable Foundation, Inc.
Grant Application Form by the end of each calendar
quarter. Forms can be requested by emailing the TCF
administrator at
adm@tiffinfoundation.org
or calling 419-448-1791. Mail completed grant
application forms to:

The review process
The White Family
Charitable Fund Distribution Committee is comprised
of community volunteers and members of the Tiffin
Charitable Foundation’s Board of Trustees. The
Committee reviews applications on a quarterly
basis. The Distribution Committee carefully
considers the merits of each individual grant
application. All applicants will be notified by
mail of the Committee’s decision. Usually, denied
requests will not be reconsidered.
